Summer Volunteer Opportunities and Fun Dates to Remember

Duck Pond: A super splashy kids prize booth when we market our school during the Sounds and Sights Festival – Friday, July 30/Saturday, July 31, 10am-6pm in the KidZone near the Teddy Bear Factory.  There will be 3-hour volunteer shifts from 9:30 am-6:30 pm to allow for setup/clean up.

Chelsea Fair Parade: Saturday, August 28, 1:00 pm (Judging at 11:00 am)  Wear comfy shoes and walk with us!  [Also See: “Float Building Begins”]

Trike Pull:  Tuesday, August 24, approx. 5-7 pm, A Chelsea Community Fair event coordinated by the Co-op where kids use tricycles to pull weighted items.  Participants earn an amusement ride ticket and ribbon!

Farmers Market: Chelsea Children’s Cooperative Preschool Tent and Kids Tent– 2^nd Saturdays in August and September.  Come and visit!  Do a craft from 8 am-Noon!

Float Building Begins

Final Float Planning Meeting – Tuesday, July 20, 11am-noon, at Pierce Park playgroup.

Float Building Meetings – Each Thursday from July 29-August 26, 11am-1pm, at the Westcott home (14166 Harvey Ln., Grass Lake)

As we build a float to showcase our programs during the Chelsea Fair Parade, the committee would love to have your help at any or all of these meetings, as well as working on specific items at your own home in between meetings.   It is a family friendly project and kids are needed to help with some special crafts on these days.  We hope you will jump right in and join the fun!
